Mindful Music Lesson Policies

My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging, and consistent learning environment where students can build musical skills, confidence, and a lasting connection with music.

Please review these policies so we can make the most of our lesson time together.

Scheduling & Lesson Times

• Lessons are scheduled for an agreed-upon day and time. Please arrive on time and ready to begin.

• Students who arrive late will still finish at the originally scheduled end time, as I may have another lesson immediately afterward.

• Please let me know as early as possible if a scheduling issue comes up.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

• At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or request a change to a lesson.

• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time require full payment for that lesson. This includes same-day cancellations.

• Missed lessons and no-shows without notice are charged at the full lesson rate.

• When at least 24 hours’ notice is provided, I will do my best to offer a rescheduled lesson when availability allows. A make-up time is not guaranteed.

• If I need to cancel a lesson, we will arrange a make-up lesson or another fair solution.

Payment & Lesson Packages

• Standard rate: $100 per 60-minute lesson.

• Monthly package: four 60-minute lessons for $360, with a consistent weekly lesson time held for the student.

• Payment is due for scheduled lessons according to the arrangement agreed upon at booking. Please discuss any payment questions with me in advance.

• Package details, including the payment date and any expiration or rollover terms, should be confirmed directly before purchase. Practice & Preparation

• Regular practice between lessons is encouraged and helps students make steady progress.

• Students should bring any assigned materials, music, instrument, and a notebook or practice log when applicable.

• Progress looks different for every student. Lessons are a judgment-free space to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.

Communication

• Please use our agreed-upon method of communication for scheduling questions, lesson updates, and cancellations.

• For cancellations, the time the message is received will be used to determine whether the 24-hour notice requirement has been met.

Student & Family Support

• Students and families are encouraged to share goals, learning needs, and concerns so lessons can be tailored to the student.

• A respectful, supportive environment is expected for everyone involved. Thank you for being part of Melody Woods Music Academy.

I appreciate your respect for these policies and look forward to making music with you!
